Established in 1985, The Garden State Chapter of ASHI is the original and most experienced home inspector organization in New Jersey.  The mission of the Garden State Chapter of ASHI is to act as an agency through which home inspection companies and home inspectors may engage in cooperative research and educational activities, having as their objective the improvement of the home inspection profession, to conduct appropriate research, technical projects and programs, and issue technical reports.

As a Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors, this chapter strives to fulfill the mission statement of ASHI National, which is “To set and promote standards for property inspections and to provide the educational programs needed to achieve excellence in the profession and to meet the needs of our members”.

Led by a Board of Directors, the Chapter accomplishes this mission by offering both full day educational seminars and shorter seminars provided at our business meetings.  Seminars feature speakers knowledgeable in their specific fields.  Formal business meetings occur quarterly and members are kept informed about the latest issues in the inspection profession.  The Board works to improve the membership experience by providing continuing education credits, networking events, and advice on ways to improve the way we perform our inspections.
